Dancer of the Week

http://dancingperfectlyfree.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/whelan-opus-19.jpg  Today, our Spotlight Dancer is Wendy Whelan of NYCB.  She was born Kentucky, and started dance training at the age of three.  She was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 12.  In 1981, she received a scholarship for the School of American Ballet’s summer program.  She later joined as a full-time student.  She became a principal at the New York City Ballet in 1991.
